Terms and Conditions
All prices are exclusive of vat and delivery.
Our standard rate covers a hire period of 3 days. Additional days will be charged out at our extra day rate. Long term hire by quotation.
Losses or breakages will be charged at current purchase cost price. Glasses are charged out at £1 plus vat per glass. depending on size and style the price increases 4. Crockery and glassware returned chipped will be charged as broken.
Plastic cartons and crates will be charged for if damaged or lost including damage caused by wet/dampness 6. Our standard wash up service is 29% of the total hire of crockery, cutlery and glassware. This charge will not be removed or deducted from your order
All Shortages, Damage, Broken or Chipped items or incorrect items sent should be reported to the office within 12 hours of either delivery by Plato Catering or collection by you or your representative. No consideration for redress will be given to a grievance once the equipment has been used Our Opening hours are as follows:-
Monday to Friday - 8:30 - 17:00
Saturday - Telephone calls will be answered between 9:00 - 11:30 (Our warehouse and Office are closed)
Sunday - Closed
No substitute items will be accepted under any circumstances.
Transporting your items - Deliveries & Collections
Deliveries and Collections are quoted for door to door service by a single driver. Hirers should ensure that they or their representatives are at the delivery address to receive/return the goods. Wasted journeys will be charged for. Please ensure that you have sufficient manual assistance on hand to help with the moving/siting and removal of equipment especially at difficult locations, eg. Marquees, office premises, large halls. Where delivery entails our staff moving goods to specific areas and/or having to reassemble equipment after use and extra time is involved, additional charges will be made.
Deliveries are from hard standing adjacent to main door, ground level entrance, unless pre-arranged. An additional charge will be imposed in respect of waiting time should the driver be unduly delayed or detained white attempting to effect a delivery or collection 9ii We will make every endeavour to effect delivery and collection at the times indicated by the hirer. No responsibility will be taken if requested times are not met. Removal will be effected as soon as possible, but all equipment cannot be collected immediately after use from all sites
Hiring Tables & Chairs
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that users of the equipment exercise adequate care to avoid injury. Plato Catering Hire will not accept responsibility for injury caused through irresponsible behaviour. Furniture must be stored in the dry.
There is a Small Order Charge of £36 on Banqueting Chair Hire for orders under 101 (in quantity)
Linen
The hire charge includes the cost of laundry. Please ensure that linen is completely dry and free from all debris before it is packed away. Damp linen is very susceptible to mildew, which can ruin a cloth within a few hours. Damage by mildew, severe staining, cigarettes, candle burns or hot cooking utensils will be charged to the hirer at full replacement cost. You will be notified of any damage to the hired linen normally within 10 days from the date it was collected/returned to Plato.
Linen is washed at 90 degrees in a Proctor & Gamble solution of Commercial Ace A, B, and C, which has been industry formulated and tested, all the above is computer dosed and set up by P&G engineers. It is understood that 90/95% of all stains can be removed using this process and again is recognised by the industry as so; unfortunately mud cannot be removed.
Mud can not be removed from cloths and will be charged for at full replacement cost 14. There will be no refund/credit given for any linen returned unused
Cancellation and Alteration Terms
Cancellations Must be in writing by Email, Fax, Letter or Personal Contact. Ansaphone messages will not be accepted.
All items on a Confirmation of Order have been booked for you. Items and quantities may not be altered within 72 hours of the delivery date. (Ansaphone service all day Sundays) If a confirmed order is cancelled or substantially changed, you will be charged:
50% of the total hire cost if a confirmed order is cancelled within 14 days of the delivery date
100% of the total hire cost if a confirmed order is cancelled within 7 days of the delivery date
Payment Terms - Due On Delivery
A non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your order. The deposit will be banked seven working days before the delivery date and set against your final invoice. The amount of deposit required is:-
£75 deposit for orders upto the value of £200 £150 deposit for orders between £201 - £400 50% deposit for orders between £401 - £500 80% deposit for orders over £501 18. Payment is due on delivery unless you have applied for a credit account. Clients on account should pay within 30 days. If not paid a Late Payment Charge (LPC) may apply. The Late Payment Charge for most invoices starts 30 days after the invoice date.
We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (interest) Act 1998 if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms. Interest on overdue amounts is calculated at the BOE base rate plus 4%. We also reserve the right to add a one off small levy (5%) of the total hire cost for late payment.
Peace Of Mind - Insurance
For your peace of mind we strongly recommend that a suitable insurance be taken out by yourself as all equipment is the responsibility of the customer during the hire period, including equipment left at other premises.
Promotional Offers
Any promotional offers are applicable to a single order only and not the total amount over multiple orders. Offers always apply to availability of stock. Excludes wash-up, linen & delivery. Normal Terms and Conditions of Hire apply.
By using the site ("Site") or any associated sites ("Associated Sites"), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and, where appropriate, any other terms and conditions, guidelines or rules applicable to other products or services that may be posted from time to time. If you do not agree with any part of the following terms and conditions, you must not use the Site.
Plato Catering Hire Limited makes no promise that materials on the Site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the UK. All orders made on the Site will also be governed by specific terms and conditions.
Exclusion of warranty
We try to ensure that the information contained on this Site is as accurate as possible. However, we give no warranty representation or otherwise of any kind regarding the Site. Morgan Wylie does not warrant or represent the accuracy, completeness, currency, or reliability of any of the content or data found on the Site. If Plato Catering Hire is informed of any inaccuracies on the Site, we will attempt to correct the inaccuracies as soon as we reasonable can.
Liability
The Site is provided by PLato Catering Hire without any warranties representations or guarantees. Plato Catering Hire assumes no responsibility and shall not be liable for any damage to or viruses that may infect your computer equipment or other property on account of your access to, use of, or browsing in the Site. To the full extent allowed by applicable law, you agree that Plato Catering Hire shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, damage, or any exemplary, punitive, direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages or any kind (including but not limited to lost profits or lost savings) whether based in contract, tort, strict liability or otherwise which arises out of or is in any way connected with the Site including (without limitation):
• i. any use of this Site or the Associated Sites or content found therein;
• ii. any failure or delay (including but not limited to) the use of or inability to use any component of the Site or the Associated Sites and any errors or interruptions of the Site;
• iii. the performance or non-performance by Morgan Wylie;
• iv. unsuitability, unreliability or inaccuracy of the Site;.
• v. inadequacy of the Site to meet your requirements;
• vi. incompatibility of the Site with any of your equipment, software or telecommunications links;
• vii. the provision of or failure to provide services;
• viii. any information, software, products, services and related graphics obtained through the Site or the Associated Sites.
Plato Catering Hire liability shall not be limited in the case of death or personally injury directly caused by Plato Catering Hire negligent act or omission.
Any dealings you have with third parties via the Site or the Associated Sites are your responsibility. Should a dispute arise between you and any third party due to use of the Site or the Associated Sites we will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered as a result.
We may provide links to other websites, resources, advertisements or sponsorships either directly or through contractual partners. Plato Catering Hire accepts no responsibility for these links and does not endorse their contents. If you decide to access other websites, you do so at your own risk.

Indemnity
You shall indemnify and keep Plato Catering Hire indemnified against all actions, claims, losses, costs (including all legal costs actually incurred or otherwise), damages and expenses that are suffered or incurred by Plato Catering Hire whether or not reasonable or otherwise foreseeable or avoidable which arise directly or indirectly from any breach or alleged breach by you of any of these Terms and Conditions or your use of the Site or any Associated Site.
Interlectual Property
All content and data on or relating to the Site is the property of Plato Catering Hire or is licensed for use by Plato Catering Hire. None of the content, images found on the Site may be reproduced, republished, distributed, posted, sold, transferred or modified without the prior express written permission of Plato Catering Hire.
General
These terms and conditions shall be deemed severable. The illegality, invalidity or unenforceability of any part of these terms and conditions will not affect the legality, validity or enforceability of the remainder.
Failure by Plato Catering Hire to enforce these terms and conditions shall not be construed as a waiver of any of its rights under it.
Plato Catering Hire shall not be responsible for any breach by it of these Terms and Conditions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
We reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any time. Your use of the Site or any Associated Sites following such changes constitutes your acceptance of these changes.
